Caltrop has been demoing some new stuff. If all goes well, the new record will be recorded in a bigass warehouse. We'll see how that goes.

Northeast and Southeast tours went well. Thanks to Music Hates You, and all our new friends. For the record, Caltrop does not endorse male prostitution.

Troika was a great time. The DTH put up some weird pictures of us and friends.

Still writing our new record. People are going to flip their shit. For various reasons of couse.

A couple Northeast and Southeast mini-tours are being booked by Lechuza Booking. We are very pleased to be working with Michelle as well as visiting places Caltrop has yet to play. Take a look. Polish up your Phil Anselmo belt buckles, New Orleans and sew up your Aus Rotten butt flaps, Pensacola.

Just got back from a great weekend. Thanks to Tiger Bear Wolf, Decoration Ghost, and Grappling Hook for the sauna party at Square One in Greensboro. Athens was also very nice, much thanks to Music Hates You and all our new friends.

There are some dates being worked out for a quick Southern tour. Check the dates.

Also thanks to Karen at Mann's World for this:

More NC shows added. The cement truck is revving.

Got some good NC shows coming up soon. We'll get some decent summer traveling going in June and some more in August.

Caltrop are featured in the movie about the much loved studio/rehearsal space, "The Stars of Track and Field". It features interviews and performances by bands who took part in T&F's going away party in March of 2008. It was all put together -- amazingly, nonetheless -- by friends at Flying Flounder Productions. Here is the trailer.

Happy 2008! We just got back from NYC with Kerbloki. Too much fun, too much self destruction.

There are tentative plans for a limited EP release with very special packaging and other bonuses. Be on the lookout for that in the next few months.

In the meantime, we're playing Chapel Hill again in January with our good friends Fin Fang Foom. If you're around come see us. If not, you'll have to wait until we hit the road with our other good friends in Black Skies in February. That's it for now, more later.

Completion of the new LP is nigh. It was recorded and mixed by Brian Paulson (Jesus Lizard, Slint, Royal Trux, Dinosaur Jr, Beck, Wilco, ...) and we couldn't be any happier. Stay tuned for more details.

The Big Business show has been rescheduled for July 22nd at the Cat's Cradle. August tour has shaped up nicely. Check the dates, we'll see you then.

Brown shirts are back in stock. Buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy.

We're currently cutting demos for the new full length, which is to be recorded early June. A weekend warrior big chief southeast run of shows is happening in July. There's also talk of a trip up north in August with our friends in Backwoods Payback. Check the dates section often as they will be posted as they come in (i.e. frequently, son).

Thanks to everyone who came out and showed support for Callum Robbins. We had a great time. For now, we're making a quick trip to Baltimore and Richmond with our friends in Black Skies. Check the dates section for more info.

Reminder: Callum Robbins Benefit this Saturday! Here's what the Independent says:

Triangle rockers convene for a cause: Callum Zachary Robbins, the 14-month-old son of D.C. post-punk god J. Robbins and wife/Channels bandmate Janet Morgan, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy last year. The debilitating disease affects the motor neurons that would allow Callum to walk, crawl, roll over or control his neck and head. Donations from shows like these across the country (seriously, The Dismemberment Plan is reuniting for Callum) will help relieve the costly medical bills for his treatment. Also, you can hear some of the best rock music the area has to offer. $5/ 8 p.m. —RI
