[Jan 25 2012] :: Record Release

Our new full length, ten million years and eight minutes will be released April 3rd on Holidays For Quince Records. The release show is happening March 24th at the legendary Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC. Pipe, Black Skies, and Dave Heumann of Arbouretum are set to perform. We're keeping this one cheap, $5 advance tickets or $7 day of the show. Tickets available very soon.

Fall tour was great. Thanks to everyone involved; bookers, promoters, bands, and fans. Our next LP, ten million years and eight minutes, will be released March 2012 by Holidays For Quince Records. We assure you it will be worth the wait. Until then, we're laying low and writing new songs. There will be some travelling to be had once the new album is released. Stay tuned dunes.

[Sep 16 2011] :: Fall 2011

Hopscotch was a fun time. Thanks to everyone who came to see us. Folks have said nice things. Best objective praise: Rather than don Caltrop the weekend's top local or metal act, I am going to make the much less refutable claim about these bluesy metal titans. The sheer force of the bass notes rocked so hard that, about thirty minutes in, the rim of my glasses snapped open and my right lens flew out. Any metal band, especially one with this much intense yelling (mixed low enough to keep outsiders intrigued) and a rhythmic bent for organized chaos, sets out on a mission to melt faces and wreck the audience emotionally. While Providence’s The Body succeeded on both counts, only Caltrop left a mark. Despite playing a slower set than the math-metal fury I caught opening for Kylesa in May, Caltrop wins Hopscotch. And they owe me a new pair of glasses. [Jul 22 2011] :: merch update

The original "bird" shirts are OUT OF PRINT. We now have them in that design on green shirts with black ink. American Apparrel & Canvas fashion fit. We also have two new designs. We'll get some pictures up and have them for sale shortly. The 2005 self-titled EPs have been repressed and redesigned by Cape & Chalice. "World Class" is almost out of print! Hurry up and buy before you get made fun of incessantly.

Just got back from a couple shows with Arbouretum. It's always a good time with those guys. We're putting the final touches on the next LP. The mixes are sounding fantastic. Very excited about what we have. It will be released early 2012. More later on that. Rest in peace, Peter Falk.

Hew, boy. The shows with Batillus and brothers HULL were an amazing time. Caltrop will play a couple local shows in May; one show with Arbouretum in Chapel Hill, and a benefit for our friend in Raleigh.
